Announcing the Winners of the 2018 Tempe History Museum Writing Contest

TempeHistory_400x244What makes Tempe distinct, diverse, and dynamic? These are the questions that Tempe Elementary students answered to be entered into the Tempe History Museum sponsored a writing contest for our fourth- through eighth-grade students. Congratulations to the following winners!

4th-5th Grade Category:

First Place: Valiant Moe Spanko, Curry Elementary
Second Place: Charlotte Brandt, Fuller Elementary


6th-8th Grade Category:

First Place: Camryn Risley, Connolly Middle School
Second Place: Nadia Vu, Connolly Middle School

 
Each first place winner will receive a $25 gift card to Changing Hands Bookstore and a trophy. Each second place winner will receive a $15 gift card to Changing Hands Bookstore and a ribbon.

The first and second place winners will be announced at the Tempe History Museum on Saturday, April 28, and the winners will read their essays. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am and conclude by 11:30 am. Mayor Mark Mitchell and Governing Board President Rochelle Wells will present the awards and share remarks. We hope you can join us to show support for our winners!
