How to Request a District Facility

The Tempe Elementary School District has a variety of facilities located throughout the city of Tempe,  Phoenix, and Guadalupe to meet your organization's needs. A map of these locations is located below. A printable version can be found at the bottom of the page.

Governing Board Policy KF Community Use of School Facilities allows for the leasing of district facilities and property to any person, group or organization for any lawful purpose in the interest of the community.

Interested parties may review the fee categories and fee schedule as well as the application form. Facilities for lease include classrooms, libraries, multipurpose rooms and gyms at individual school sites. Fields are also available at no charge; however, facility use paperwork and proof of insurance are required prior to use.

Step 1: Contact individual site to determine whether/not the space is available for the time being requested or the proper personnel will be onsite to accommodate the request (if outside the regular working hours of the facility). If the site is available, fill out the application and submit to the principal along with a $15.00 application fee and documentary evidence of liability insurance of at least one million dollars ($1,000,000) naming Tempe Elementary School District #3 as an additional insured. The application will not be processed without the $15.00 application fee.

Step 2: If the application is approved, the principal will sign and forward the paperwork to the district office which will process the request.

Step 3: The district will process the request, assess facility use fees and the damage deposit, and send the Facility Use Agreement to be signed by the person making the facility use request. The district will also invoice the person making the request. The requesting party has 30 days from date of invoice to make payment to the district.

Custodial Fees will apply to all categories if facility use is outside the normal business hours of the building.  Custodial fees are $32.00/hour.

Category III: Extended Day Resource Programs for District Age Children
School Year (August - May) $176.00/month
Summer Months (June - July) $473.00/month
Breaks (Fall/Winter/Spring) $138.00/week + cust. fee for winter & spring break

Additional Requirements

  • All organizations must provide proof of insurance.
  • $250.00 damage deposit required for Categories II, III and IV, unless otherwise specified in a formal agreement.
  • All Category II organizations must provide proof of non-profit status.
  • All fees are due in advance.
  • A $15.00 application processing fee for all Category II and IV requests will be due upon submittal.
  • All fees to be figured to the nearest half hour. Failure to provide a minimum forty-eight (48) business hours notice of cancellation will result in a $25.00 cancellation fee.

*Fees are waived unless otherwise indicated in Exhibit KF-EA, e.g., multipurpose room with kitchen includes cafeteria worker charges, custodial fees apply if facility use is outside the normal business hours of the building, or if district equipment is used, technician or qualified employee charges will apply.

Facility Use Application
To use a school facility, you must complete and return a Community Use of School Facilities Application Form two (2) weeks prior to desired use date along with a $15.00 application processing fee.
